Problem with DC / PDC
Hi,
Have a DC which was acting as PDC, was having some problems and was re-installed. It became very unstable but it still can function as a file server, DNS server but other DC related functions was totally or partially down, e.g. GC, FPS. Now the domain are depending on another DC.
I would like to reformat/ re-install Windows 2003 server to this ex-PDC (so I can have a backup DC again) but was not quite sure what are the tasks and settings to do/ consider / transfer to make sure that the replacing DC actually took over operation as PDC to all the domain clients.
Some of the things I am now checking are Operations Master Roles (FSMO), existing logon scripts, shared folders mappings.
Many thanks for your advice.
