Thread: Are you ready for the big BOOM?

Few months back I saw a news. A woman's face turned silver because of using nose drops. It was on main news media and in many tv channels. She had a blog as well. And guess what right after she had that big exposure people started flocking on her blog. But her site could not handle the crowd; it went down.

This scenario actually happen to many. They get famous for some sudden incident. And lot of them are not ready to handle the situation. Are you ready for the big BOOM?

Then we also have to be ready for big hosting plan for our blog/ site.

Most of the times its bandwidth issue. It could be a development issue as well. Some sites, specially the ones that connect to database, are not properly optimized to handle that kind of situation.

Most often when I've seen this happen it's because they exceed their bandwidth. I make sure that I only use hosting that will automatically increase my bandwidth so that I can ensure that this never happens to one of my sites. I refuse to use a host that puts up that horrible "bandwidth exceeded" page instead of working with you.
