Google rolled out the Penguin Update on April, 2012.
This was a huge one, by the sense that a large number of websites got effected on SERP; about 30%.

The major tone of this update was "do not duplicate content". Sites that duplicates content on same site, subdomains, or another website got a major hit on SERP. This is the beginning of the end of bad SEO practices.

Now Google want to show quality results when someone type keyword and search on Google. I think it is better for us.

Google Penguin describe the new optimization algorithm. According to Penguin Update, over promotion and use of duplicate content will be a reason of ranking down of website in future.

Yes Google penguine is mainly launched to fight against the duplicate content and the keyword stuffing and subdomians of the sites. It also fight agains the sites which has been promoted through black hat seo.

Google penguine, i do not understand why google is launching lots of thing now and making the webmaster life so miserable.
its help, i know. but it's also effecting the good websites. Now it's very difficult if you have to start a new bussiness. becouse of Google penguin you have to use google adsense to spend money and drive traffic.

Update is come more strong effect in improving their search results pages.No unethical technique alive more in SEO.Only white hat rules are going to win. So place yourself with winning side and follow all ethical rules in getting top ranking.
