Default Google Accuses Bing For Cheating

Google has run a sting operation that it says proves Bing has been watching what people search for on Google, the sites they select from Google’s results, then uses that information to improve Bing’s own search listings. Bing doesn’t deny this.
Amit Singhal, a Google Fellow who oversees the search engine’s ranking algorithm says:
“I’ve spent my career in pursuit of a good search engine, I’ve got no problem with a competitor developing an innovative algorithm. But copying is not innovation, in my book.”

Read this story on another forum. Its pretty interesting that Bing got caught using a copycat method for determining #1.

    Cool

Bing is taking a cue from its competition but it seems to be more literally taking search results as well. Thanks for sharing info.

Anyway we just go to Google for answers. It stays the best reputable search engine.

Read this article already. Bing provides Google results for a wrong keyword without giving a suggestion.

it's because they are partners, so no big surprise the resultas are quite similar on both search engines

They say that the greatest form of flattery is imitation. Google is being copied because they are the best!

Pretty pathetic. Microsoft should know how to get their own search results.
