Forum Updated to VBulletin 3.8

We have updated the forum software to the latest 3.8 version.

Thanks to Kev, he got us the news on the release. Plus the vbseo fix link from Kev was real helpful.

There are quite a few new features on the new 3.8 version. Looks like vBulletin team working really hard making the forum work a better social networking platform. Here is the list of new features taken from vBulletin.com site:

There are many new features and improvements to existing functionality in vBulletin 3.8.0 over vBulletin 3.7.x. Here is a brief list of just a few of the highlights.

• Private message sorting and filtering

• Quick edit for newer types of content (visitor messages and picture comments)

• Private message throttling (limit messages sent over a time period)

biggest visual changes are with groups I think Webmaster Forum - Social Groups

oh yeah ...it looks a little different. I didn't notice it because i don't use the social groups that much.

DP is still using v3.6.8

Its always good to use a forum thats up to date, older forums seem to have security holes.

nobody should use DP forum.

This is why: As you know when you visit a site, your computer saves the images and other stuffs on your computer. What DP does is injects codes are actually seem like images(but not real images); that code then executes and when the user at the computer visits certain sites like ebay and make any purchase it make it look like "user clicked the ebay affiliate ad with affiliate code for DP owner". DP owner got sued by ebay for this you might know.

As brilliant as this is, I remember hearing about this from Manik's blog, this was very wrong of the guy, his forum should've been shut down

I think it has to be proven in the court first, before any action could be taken. EBay is a big company, no matter they can prove it or not in the court, I am sure they have good reasons to take them to the court.

3.8.0 is awesome Manik, I love hte quick reply for PM;s a lot, and it makes forums much more closer to being social networking sources, which is good for your goals
