Posting Just to Post

Okay, so I'm new here, that's apparent, but I'm not new to community environments and forums. This forum is ridiculously flooded in spam and pointless posts. Someone asks, "What is the best OS," and people reply with "Windows XP." Not only is that just a word to most people and not a full explanation of why that OS is the best or isn't, but it's also a sure tell-sign that the forum is flooded in spam and garble.

I don't mind the community, but I feel the moderator(s) need(s) to look for those pointless posts and delete them. In a community where post counts matter, people are likely to do one or two word posts that don't contribute to the community just to get their post count up so they can advertise their companies and insert links in their posts.

Perhaps I'm not in the right position to make these statements, but it's sad when a new user to the forum is frustrated with the community and the pointlessness of most of the posts.

its really tough to check on every post, but honestly we try to clean up as much as we can.
