How can we decrease LOAD TIME of the website.
Dear All Kindly let me know that how can we decrease load time of the websites if it takes 5 to 6 seconds

Host your web site on a high-end server, Optimize your images, Reduce the codes etc

If you're running on an Apache server, then make sure your website is being compressed using the Apache deflate or gzip functions
If you've never heard about them, then simply google "apache deflate compression"
That alone reduced my site load time by about 25%

There are many things that increase the load time of your website..
Use less img (less size/kb)
Less use of flash
Remove unnecessary code
Host your site on dedicated server

Try to reduce image sizes and if you can avoid flash then try to avoid

Use short and min size images and try to create website in web2.0 format. Also take a Good hosting services for fast download speed.

To decrease load time of website you have to keep many things in mind like use CSS, remove extra scripts from code, use small size images and optimize the image as well as text.
