THe most important thing with social bookmarking sites is that you need to stay active and communicate with other members. You have to be SOCIAL.

I think the best approach is picking sites that are related to our sites and submit to them. Submission to just about any site really doesn't do any good.

Yup relevance is very important.

For example, my bollywood blog gets twice as much traffic from a small (but Indian) social bookmarking site compared to Digg.

I guess that makes sense. Thats just a perfect example of marketing on related sites.

Social book marking websites is a big traffic source if your article / submitted information is useful to visitors and submitted in the relevant category.

Yup Twitter is helpful too. I used it for sometime few months ago. I will start using it again soon.

i find social network interesting and enjoyable. the way others interact on what activity you have. the more you make it interesting the more traffic will you get from it. such as twitter, my space and other social networks,. but making interesting things is not easy.. like in other forum. the newbies have to gain some reputation first before they can create signatures and paste links into their post.

the only tips i can suggest here is upload some videos to your account, link some interesting blogs, fun interactive activity and etc...

uploading a video in your social profile van also help in increasing traffic.Thats good point...
