Yes according to me, it is called social media. Because through forum many people from same profession interact with each other and share their problems with one another.

So definitely the forums will be considered as social media which are not only web based communication of the like minded people who have same platform dialogues but have same bonding

I do agree. forum is also a part of social media but highly valuable than any other social media's.
