What is Latent Semantic Analysis (LSI Indexing)?

I tried looking at wikipedia after reading this from here:

Looks very hard!!!
I cannot get anything.
Any one can explain it in simple language?

It's not really something to be concerned about.

Essentially, it just says that search engines can identify words as being related to each other. So if you have the words "Nike, Puma, Adidas" on your page, search engines will know the pages is about shoes, even if you don't use the word "Shoes" anywhere on the page.

If you write naturally and use related terms to the keywords you're targeting, you don't need to worry about LSI.

So thats why when i type "log" in Google it shows pages about logarithms.
