Well, ecommerce websites are basically online stores where people can come and order things. Aspects that make ecommerce websites better are
-- Acceptance of multiple payment methods.
-- Trustworthiness and possibly customer reviews.
-- Clean and organized site.
Its usually best to choose what kind of things you will sell and then sell that alone, rather than selling everything. For example, electronics.Amir Mullick, SEO and Internet Marketer.

Amir explained it nicely. On top of that you have to figure what you gonna sell, where you gonna get the products from, return policy etc.
