Yes you are quite right that traffic is important. I am using approximately all off page techniques for my website promotion but it is too much lengthy process.

I dont think so it will help you to site promotion. Gravatar is used for personal branding. If you do commenting with gravatar. Some person can easily understand you by your gravatar.
