What is Black Hat SEO?
Black Hat SEO, search engine optimization, is defined as techniques that are used to get higher search rankings in a way that are forbidden by search engines.

Many of the techniques that are Black Hat now was legit before. Lot of people abused those legit techniques to get higher rankings; and now are black hat.

Why people do it?
People who choose to do it, do it for faster rankings of keywords in general. But eventually they off by getting the site banned or such. Lot of people actually don't care about getting banned; they intend to make the maximum business before they get banned or penalized.

Black Hat SEO Techniques:
People use different techniques for Black Hat SEO. Here are the most commonly used techniques.

Keyword stuffing: Packing long lists of keywords in your site.

Invisible text: Putting lists of keywords in a page that is invisible to the user, but visible to search engine spiders.

Doorway Pages: Doorway pages are designed for different keywords to rank better. There is not link to those pages from the actual site.

I am hoping to write more articles on each of these techniques covering more details how they are implemented.

Your blog will surely attract visitors.. anyway I never tried using it.. I was more on white hat..

Once I was using invisible text in my early days of learning SEO. I didn't know it was not allowed Its good to have knowledge on these so we can avoid them.

I never use SEO Black Techniques... It's better to make your site rank through using good techniques.. And I think it's more challenging when you're optimizing your site or blog in a proper and natural way...

Yeah! Just say NO NO to BLACK HAT SEO TECHNIQUES.

Google update its algorithm time to time, So black hat techniques are identify and punished. If you develop an online portal then always try to follow the ethical way of promotion.

I used to do lotsa stuffing because it was supposed to work.

Then I read that the search engines got smart. I was thinking, heck, so I just left the stuffed list there.

So what now? They are still stuffed. So something bad will happen? Penalized? Or they just don't work (which is fine since I hope people don't come - yea, I am crazy... I don't want business)

Lot of things can happen. They can ban your site, they can vanish your site from SERPs, or may be they will push your site down in SERPs.

That site I have in mind has been around for years. For quite a long while, it was the first on the list when I search by keyword. Then it dropped to top 3.

But wow, 6 years down the road, I am surprised it is still #6. It is just so incredible that I feel like laughing. No wonder I keep getting irritated by customers I do not want. It is really incredible given how popular that keyword is and how many tons of sites there are about it.

Maybe I should start place ads, LMAO.

Copying gonna cause duplicate content problem I think. Should we call it black hat, I guess so Or we could name it yellow hat.

The rubbish files technique seemed to work for me too.

Or has it become black hat? Btw, black hat means "no longer working"?

What keyword you ranking #6? Which website? It would be interesting to know what you are doing, may be you have invented a way to beat the search engines

Nah, it's an old thing and I haven't tweaked it for years. Probably just lucky.

Shhh... that's a secret but I swear to God I wasn't crapping it up. :P
