    Default Under Construction Site SEO

Lot of people use the under construction pages while they are working on developing their sites. I think its kind of lame showing an Under Construction page.

As per SEO, this could pose some problem as the site is launched. Search engines crawl sites with less content and less visitors with greater intervals. And that means people may see the under construction message for a while even after you launch your site.

A good practice probably would be using a robots.txt page telling search engines not to index that page.

The best way is to complete the site, Under construction pages always gets bad impression through visitors as well as Search engines.

it is okay as long as the title and description of page are set ... even if your website is under construction you should build back links ...

Sorry guys.. i am not agree with you in this poing..
i think under construction pages are a proper way when you are going to launch a new website...it will help you in seo too..

At a minimum, you should provide a quick text write-up of your new site, what it’s about, what products you are going to be selling and maybe some images. You should also cover the basics of search engine optimization techniques:
    • Give your images ALT and/or TITLE tags with your most prominent keywords
    • Include your TITLE, KEYWORDS, and DESCRIPTION META tags in the page header.
    • Use as much text as possible that includes your prominent keywords.
