For ranking yes, any inbound link would contribute. Even with nofollow, I think it helps; since nofollow is designed to prevent PR leak not to prevent ranking aide.

I would probably say article marketing works best. Write up articles with positive reviews (include some minor negatives so it doesnt look all good) and just submit it to many directories or post it on multiple blogs using an article spinner at the same time.

God knows how many times this been asked. PR is always updating. However main homepage is updated once in three months. Last month we had one I guess. So next to be in two months I guess.

Many times you may find websites which might not even have good and well formed meta tags but since a lot of high quality and one way links are pointing at them, their rankings could be at the top and PR is not that important for rankings nowadays.

Answer: If you are referring to Google embedded alternate searches, it is basically Google giving their users suggestions to help them narrow down what it is exactly that they may be searching for. I guess a good analogy would be that it's like related articles at the bottom of an article on a web page.

So if you search for Search Engine Optimization on Google and scroll down to the bottom of the SERPs it would suggest searches related to that term. But if you're speaking of something else, then I am totally off mark.

Question: Nofollow links don’t help sites rank higher in Google’s search results. But it is reported that they do pass anchor text in Yahoo search results. I tend to agree, as I've noticed that sites I link to with nofollow attribute do not help sites in Google (& Bing) SERPs, but they seem to help rank the sites better in Yahoo search results. Do you think Yahoo should follow Google's (& Bing's) lead and honor the nofollow attribute? And what are your general thoughts on Yahoo overall SERPs?

Answer: To get a good SERP in Google you need to have high quality backlinks and good content in your website and rest doesn't matter.

Answer: I think Google's algo focus more on what content they can fetch on your site as well the weight of related backlinks you are getting and the strength of the link you have from your backlinks. It's not the quantity rather the quality of backlinks which will help your keywords to rank on results, Getting link from high pr page or authority sites doesnt neccessarily mean that the page of your site will get a pr but rather for me it help that page to rank on SE result due to it do have trusted backlinks and related one which measures the quality.
