Thread: Does W3 validating code help SEO

I just wanted to present this question to all you other SEO savy people out there. I have recently been building websites with W3 compliant code as an added SEO feature. Do you think that it helps with SEO and if so, do you know if there are any statistics out there on the web that show how much it helps?

The code becomes cleaner and file size generally goes down. I guess thats all it would be.

Benefits of W3C Compliance:

CSS > Tables
Pages are smaller and load faster.
Browsers cache the CSS file meaning that it only needs to reload the small html page.
Easier to build whole sites using 1 external style sheet
Makes code clean and easy to change manipulate

Complience > Non Complience
Your webpage will display properly in more browsers
Your webpage will stay pretty when browsers update the way they display code.
Support for tags may stop or change meaning when you make a site with non complient code the site you have made will not properly function.
You also get to put a nice little XHTML compliant sticker on yoru webpage

i think it's help full for SEO point of view...

W3 Validator are basically observe and analyze the complete coding process of the website and show that is is perfect or not for SEO process.

Yes, W3 validator is helpful in point of SEO...It helps to know whether our site contain any error or not

and you know what there are many sites exists there in great rankings with many errors and no W3C validations.

Eer even Google itself shows lots of errors when you try to validate it on W3C.

It is insignificant if applied alone. If applied with all other seo techniques it may help you fare a little better. It is more of a feel good factor. Search engines are there to provide you with the most relevant results not well structured websites. That's my opinion.

Well, I think not everybody follow it completely because there are more other things also in consideration for getting good ranking of any website.
