Can anyone tell me What is canonical error in SEO?..

if your site open with two type of url like http://www.yourdomain.com and http://yourdomain.com its called canonical problem in SEO Google takes it as a duplicate site and some times punish it.

Most canonical issues are caused by forgiving agents and excessively tolerant servers as given a set of rules, these machines assume that although you asked for B, you wanted A. If a single URL opens with two different types than it is a canonical error. we can remove this error via 301 redirection.

If any of your page in your site is reachable from various addresses like
example.com
example.com/index.html

These type of problems are called canonical errors.

I think this is not a bog issue in search engine solve this problem using redirection to landing page.

When your home page opens with both "http://www.site.com" and "http://site.com" is known as canonical error. Sometime Canonical URL (best URL version) is also referred as "Preferred Domain".

Duplicate domain is a canonical error like you have a website mysite.com and it is opening with both of types means with www and without www. Thats a canonical issue. Apply 301 redirection on website.
