A proportional measurement of keywords embedded in a page's content. High keyword density focuses the page's subject in a way that Google's spider understands. The spider can interpret too high a density as spam, which results in a lower PageRank or elimination from the index.

Where do these figures come from? No sources are quoted to back them up. Google does not set any keyword density % targets,
and if you want verification of this and want to to know what they actually say about keyword density please watch this video from

Keyword Density is the ratio of the keyword in a content. It would be nice if you use 3%-5% of Keywords to your website content. Keyword density is important because search engines use this information to categorize a site's theme, and to determine which terms the site is relevant to. The perfect keyword density will help achieve higher search engine positions. Keyword density needs to be balanced correctly. So Keyword density shoul be less.
