Keyword density was a term used to say how many times a keyword was used on a page. It used to be advisable to use 2-3% keyword density. For example on a page with 500 words using the keyword 10-15 times was the norm, but as already stated this isn't so effective anymore and a better way to go is to use the LSI route. You can either get a paid version of software or do it manually free from using Googles keyword tool.

I think that an explanation of LSI would be helpful. It is Latent Semantic Indexing which is just jargon for using words that are similar or mean
the same as your keywords. Search engines are able to recognize terms that are related to the same thing, for example if you search
Google for "second hand cars" you will also see results for "used cars". So instead of repeating the same keyword over and over, we
can make use of alternative words.
