Default Off-Page SEO > Blog Commenting

    Good day, everyone!

Recently, I've been trying out blog commenting and I have encountered some comments on Twitter saying that it's only going to be effective if I did it genuinely, and stuff like that. Oh, by genuinely, they meant that the purpose of my blog commenting is not mainly for link building but for interaction. The benefits of link building are considered as bonus.

While I was at it, I've encountered awesome bloggers who have replied to the comments I sent to them, but there are some who didn't approve my comments. I've thought of the following factors as to why my comments didn't go through the moderation stage:

    1. My comment was blocked by a spam engine - You guys know Akismet, right? It may have affected my approval rate. If you're going to ask me what type of comments I make, I just write them the way that I'm writing this entire post down. If I've included keywords within my comment, I made sure that they fit in.

    2. My comment didn't add value to their conversation - The blog owners and the other readers may already have mentioned what I said. There's no need to bring up the same point more than once, right? Well, unless someone asks a question about it.

    3. My Gravatar's not a picture of me - There are some bloggers out there that accept comments depending on what picture you use as your Gravatar. As you guys see, my avatar's a green, gray, and white panda. It's inspired by the Panda update, and one of my favorite colors: green. Maybe that idea didn't get through them.

Okay, on to the last part. What's making me think right now is the fact that some spammy comments go through a day after I posted my comment, but mine didn't go through moderation. That's what I want to ask you guys. What do you think is the problem there? Note that the sites aren't link farms, and huge percentage of the comments there are genuine and valuable.

Always comment unique don't use such kind of words like " thanks for sharing " something related to this. Just read that blog and tell your comments valid. Add the comment two to three lines so moderator never thinks that you are spamming.

justin123, if I'm going to thank someone for a great article, I'd say that in the end. I'd share my piece first.

Blog comment added by you should be relevant to that post. Try to post different comment every time to avoid spamming.

Your comment has to add to the conversation and be related to the blog post. You may use a part of it and say why you agree or not. This will show the blogger that you have read the post and that you are not a software.

Sometimes bloggers do not update their blogs often, so it does take time. Have you checked if the post and last comments are recent?
I have a blog and I personally look at the commentator's link. If the comment is good but his url is something I do not like, i would not approve.

You see that there are many factors that makes it difficult to get approved.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) all blogs have owners and they decide which comment to accept and which comment to ban. Probably, they considered your comment a spam (in most cases) or non-valuable.
