302 is a temporary redirect (as opposed to 301 which is for a permanent redirect). For more details just Google "302 redirect".

302 redirections should be used for temporary redirections of the URLs.
For example, using a 302 redirection from http://www.abc.com/ to http://www.abc.com/def-action/index.htm, means that, although the page is temporarily redirected to the special action promotional page, the preferred address to be used in the future remains http://www.abc.com/.

Also, 302 redirects have no effect on search engine results, whilst 301 redirects do.

    Hi,

A 302 redirect tells the search engine that the move is only temporary, and you may decide to show content at the original location in the future without a redirect. 302 is treated as page hijacking technique. A page hijack is a technique exploiting the way search engines interpret certain commands that a web server can send to a visitor.

That true, if we want to redirect any of our page on temporary basis than we do 302 redirect and if we want to do it permanently than we do 301 redirect.

302 redirect means that the owner of this link asks users to continue to use this address as the redirect could be modified at some later time. 302 Redirect is a temporary redirect, it leaves the decision of how to rank the addresses to the search engines. Different search engines handle this situation in different ways. The owner of the page pointed to by the redirect is not necessarily the same person and might not wish that its contents is presented as belonging to another web site.

When you want to temporary re-direct any website/web page but not permanently then 302 redirect is used. For permanent re-direct use 301 redirect

302 Redirection is also known as permanent redirection which is used when you change the url of your site and switch to another url. In this case, if you want all the credentials of your old url onto the new one, you provide it the 302 redirection.

A 302 Redirect is a temporary redirect and passes 0% of link juice (ranking power) and in most cases should not be used. The Internet runs on a protocol called HyperText Transfer Protocol (HTTP) which dictates how URLs work. It has two major versions, 1.0 and 1.1. In the first version 302 referred to the status code 'Moved Temporarily'. This was changed in version 1.1 to mean 'Found'.

Nothing wrong with using sources to support a point of view, but you could be in breach of copyright if you copy and do not make clear (by providing the source url) that it is not your own. This is copied from SEOmoz, see:
