Irrelevant Backlinks
When I have checked my client's data in Google Webmaster Tools, I found that there are number of spam backlinks from lots of blogs and other sites. The anchor text which they used are not relevant to our client's site. It contain some abusive words in anchor text.
How can I remove those irrelevant backlinks? Does it affect overall site ranking? As there are very high number of domains, its impossible to remove the links manually. Is there any way to remove and restrict those backlink?

If all the links are posted in forums then you need to contact forum owner and request to delete the user who is spreading spam, this is only the means.

There is nothing you can do to remove those irrelevant backlinks and if they want to post in your site with these unrelated anchor texts they can but be sure that you have natural links and there is no need to worry. Google knows this kind of backlinks and it won't hurt your rankings.

yes, That is not a matter if a site has 1000's of irrelevant links with different anchor text, just focus on getting quality backlinks with proper anchor text to your site. Getting 10 high quality backlinks to your site is better than 1000's of irrelevant links. also focus on contents in your site.

The irrelevant links don't matter as Google is intelligent enough to identify spam links.
