As I have heard many times that your neighbors on same IP address doesn't affect your reputation and ranking... and the reason is if a site get banned by google for any reason it doesn't force google to ban other sites on same IP address.

And you should more focus on content because it's most important factor because it's concern to search engine. Google likes fresh content and if your site has good quality and fresh content than your site index fastly by Google bot.

Along with the top ten ranking factors. i like to include social signal as one of the important factors. Number of shares and likes from social network such as Twitter and Facebook also helps to improve the search engine ranking.

In my opinion I have ever seen the value go up around a structure onpage well made and unique content, with h1, h2 and h3 well distributed around the same.
