How can no follow links be used effectively in our site?

-Using ‘nofollow ‘ links prevents spamming on your website.

-When you don’t want that Pagerank flows to unimportant pages of your website (testimonials, contact pages etc.)

-When you don't take responsibility of any outgoing link on your website

-When you want to prevent PR sculpting to external links

-When you want to use paid links (Google considers paid links with nofollow as ethical)

No follow links help to increase traffic to your website. No follow links also help to improve your page ranking in search engine.

The reason no follow links improve search engine rankings is because they make your link building appear more natural. The search engines want the searchers to decide what is, and what is not a popular website or blog. One way they acheive this is by building up a picture of who is linking to you, who you are linking to, and where your visitors are coming from etc. If every link you have is a do follow link they can see that it is unlikely to be happy users that have bookmarked, or shared the content in question.

So the best way to use do and no follow links is to not worry at all about them. Think more of providing great content and linking to places that appreciate that content and have plenty of visitors who are liklely to read it too.

Think, blogs, forums in your niche. Bookmark your posts share tham on Facebook and tweet them etc. Also consider writing some good content for web 2.0 sites like Squidoo and Hubpages too.

While Google see 1000 links in your site and all of them are do follow then they will definitely think that you are intentionally building links. but if you have some no follow links there then Google will consider them as natural link building that's why No follow are important.

good description bu the fellows and i have alot to learn from the discussion. No follow links are natural links but some say that they are not crawled by the search engines and do not effect the rankins but somehow i am a new comer in the SEO industry and i have a lot to learn.

In Google, no follow links on our site count as a traffic..but in other search engines they count it as a backlinks..

Nofollow links will not have any linkjuice and will not be counted by the search engines. It can help in bringing referral traffic.

Can anyone tell me that do no follow links improve SERP of website?
I am talking bout SERP not PR.

Some times gives approval. So no follow are also beneficial to promotion of our websites.
