Thread: Is meta tags required ?

Need help: please let me know if I can still rank high without using meta tags in the website. Please provide, if any suggestion...

According to me Meta tags are HTML tags that provides data to search engines about information present on a webpage and help in ranking the importance and relevance of a particular webpage. Without Meta tags your site could not be find by search engine. Meta data tag must be one of the most important element of on page optimization. These are originally designed to provide webmasters with a way to assist search engines know about their site. It also helps to increase visibility in different search engines.

The meta tags gives additional information about your pages to search engine bots. Once meta tags were also considered one of the ranking factor. Now Google does not consider meta tags as one of the ranking factor.

Some of mata tages are helpful and some not, so please name the mata tag that you want to use…?

Yes you can because the search engine pick up some other texts from the page if the meta tag is absent, so they may be better or bad for you.

meta tags are not necessary, if you want your site to pass the webmaster guidelines, then you should do it.
