You can increase your site page rank by submitting directory, bookmaking, press release of your link.
But remember one thing you must do that continuously otherwise your site may be ranked or not on search engine.

I think that pagerank is not important as you think. It is just one of 100 or maybe even 200 factors which involves in google rankings. So don't worry about pagerank so much.

In order to increase pr rankings, we must build links from high authority sites, and the site must be optimized well to improve its rankings and gain quality backlinks to improve its link popularity.

I don't think that visits will increase the PR. In my opinion quality backlinks and quality of your site by doing proper search engine friendly optimization will increases the PR.

Increase visitors for your websites from high PR website and also relevant to your website. As per my opinion you should woried about SERPs than PR.

In the Page Rank lots of factor include. most important thing is that add fresh and unique content on the website and make links for particular url, this is fast way to get PR. 20 link of PR 1, 2nd 20 link of Pr 2, next 20 Links of PR 3 or 4. Try this its realy work i used this many time now i have lots of website with High PR.

Try to get links links from a page which has already page rank. More such links will always generate page rank.

Try to make quality and relevent links from high PR websites. Don't forget the quality of the links over than quantity.

According to me you need high quality backlinks for it. Indeed you need to implement a SEO strategy. Don't forget about your onpage factors too. It does not directly influence your pagerank, but quality backlinks might not want to link to you when your onpage is not ok. Just make sure you have interesting and valuable content.
