What are ranking factors in Google, Yahoo and MSN?

Google, Yahoo! and MSN are alltogether different in terms of ranking factors. Things that can help you rank in one search engine could prelude from ranking in another.

-Google is all over the map and takes quality, relevance and social media reputation for ranking while Yahoo! and MSN have poor ranking algorithms with heavy bias towards commercial results

-Google is aggressively working on duplicate content issues while while Yahoo! and MSN don’t pay much heed to quality content.

Yahoo! and MSN are trying to catch up with Google by changing their ranking priorites but are unable to cope up with technology advancements.

Yahoo is certainly easier to manipulate and move your site up the organic rankings. I recently launched a keyword domain name saite in a reasonably competitive keyword. By 'announcing' it on a few quickly indexed blogs and twitter, it was in the organic listings within 24 hours. Since then it has moved steadily up to number 7 on page one. This is all within 6 weeks.

Google is far harder, some strong, good quality links are needed if the search term is in anyway competitive.

All ranking factors are not same. But we must follow google ranking factors. Their must have quality and original content, backlinks from signature in forums and commenting from other blogs, social bookmarking, blog submission in directory are the ways.
