I'm planning to pick-up a great 7 year old domain PR=0 and are planning on using it as an additional site, purely for organic rankings.

My question, is how hard can we push it with back links? Should we be safe and hire an seo company with a litany of clean, high pr blogs that will link back to us, at least in the beginning? Or should we just go balls to the wall?

It's a semi-competitive space, some pr 3 and 4 websites, but most are fairly weak.

Any and all ideas are helpful. just really want to get some thoughts on how to handle such an aged domain...usually, I start off with fresh ones.
