You can go for Google webmaster tools as it provides a large variety of tools.
Google webmaster tools provides you with behind the scenes information about how Google sees your website ( information about crawling, indexing, sitemaps, canonical issues, guidelines and much more...)

There are lot many tools available on the internet but you need to make sure whether they are reliable or not.
I have been using a tool “keyword country” for keyword research, finding niche related blogs and spying on my competitors and it works for me.

while you are learning, google wembaster tools will probably do. they are free so you aren't putting your money on the line. once you are comfortable with the free google tools and have some sort of website promotion strategy donw, then you can start shopping around for paid tools - otherwise you will invest money into tools and think that because you paid they will do stuff for you but thats far from the case - usually, the more expensive the tools, the more time it takes to learn how to take full advantage of them - dont have the time to sit down and learn? then stick with the free google tools. thinking of investing i tools? I highly recommend reading a few non-affiliate, authoritative and non-paid reviews and then get the free version and play with it - here is a great review of the best SEO tools done by SEO book - a big SEO authority
