How to increase PageRank fast?

Hi,

Recently my sites have been experiencing sinking PR, down from PR 5 to 2-3 and now it's very frustrating.

Would like to increase the PR's as fast as possible, but I know I'd have to wait for the next crawls... bout half a year away, prolly...

My question is rather: what to do now so that I get a substantially powerful PR boost the next time?

Link building with posting on forums and one way link partnerships are very slow...
Been spending on directories, but that doesn't seem to help at all

Instead keep posting link back from external site, I would advise focus more on site SEO, by deliver quality content, thousand of site will promote your site for free.

Search engine optimization is slow burner activity and you should create best quality and relevant links to your website. If you are getting quality links on daily basis then you will get improved ranking after some time.

Why you think directories are not helps to PR, you can try with high Pr directory sites.
also do 2-way & 3-way link exchange.
