Thread: Why only Google for SEO?

Many search engines are available in on the web but most of the webmasters are using Google. I want to know that why webmasters are emphasizing on Google for doing SEO and why not other search engines? And, how they do SEO effectively only in Google and get the result?

google is the dominant player, even bing has been shown to mirror google results, remember an incident not so long ago that got MS in trouble

Yahoo, MSN, etc don't have the quantity of users searching each day that Google does.

About 70% of the internet traffic are using Google as their search engine that's why most of the webmasters are emphasizing Google for doing SEO. If their site comes in top ranking of Google SERP then it can easily acquire maximum traffic....

google is used all over the world more than other search engines.b'coz it provides many useful tools for the SEO.

Because a website that gets traffic from Google, Bing, Q&A sites & forums (NOT by spamming them!) and also Social avenues, is a hell of a lot more stable and secure in the long run, than one that just replies on Google

It's about marketshare, Google is basically the head honcho in the Search Engine Game (barring China's Baidu and chinese surfers)
It would make little sense to optimize for the smaller search engines

Exactly, Baidu could be an important one to get on top of soon. Could be a good USP for digital marketer

but to be honest you would need a very defined market and product to work towards Baidu

i think google is too popular because every seoer needs to focus on it first!

Search engine optimization is the process to get good ranking at search engine and bring more ethical traffic. Google cover more than 65% search engine market and it is first love for all.

If we are doing only SEO for Google then we can get good business.

In simple way Google is top Search Engine according to users quantity, So if your website do rank on top in Google then your website gets very high traffic.

Because Google is user friendly.

For several years now Google has the highest percentage of internet users share about 60-70% while Yahoo , Bing and all other search engines are dividing on the remaining 30-40%. So obviously you have to optimize your site to a search engine that have more users than those with less.
