bounce rate means the rate of the visitors that only just clicked but not stayed in your site for more then 2 seconds. this is called bounce rate. the lower bounce rate you get the better your site. so try to reduce the bounce rate.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single-page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. Use this metric to measure visit quality - a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages aren't relevant to your visitors. The more compelling your landing pages, the more visitors will stay on your site and convert. more infos here ,http://www.google.com/support/google...n&answer=81986

Bounce rate is total stay time of visitor at your website, if bounce rate is lover then well for your business and if higher total time take at your website by visitor is low that is that way they can't give more time at your website.
if you reduced your website bounce rate then your business going boost.

I personally get 1 lead per 3 clicks for my offer
from one of my PPC campaign.
bounce rate is really bad and mainly it
is because not targeted audience.
If you niche is more targeted, find as much targeted
places as you can rather than stick on numbers for hits
and you will have great rate for your business.

I think every website or blog owner should try to reduce bounce rate. That be helpful for them. The bounce rate of the site will minimum if site visitors find informative and useful content on the site. If you add too much irrelevant content on your website to just increase the size or for SEO, and if visitors won't find the website content worth to read, then they will leave the website soon which may increase the bounce rate. Also make sure you target the correct audience so the bounce rate will automatically reduced. I think this will also an another good option for the same.

Bounce Rate is a percentage metric used to find the number of visitors who arrived at your site, and then left it after viewing just the landing page (instead of going on to explore other pages on the site).
A high bounce rate suggests that more and more visitors are finding your website slow, irrelevant or unappealing. A low bounce rate, on the flip-side, suggests that your website is attractive to the right kind of audience.

IT is how quickly the visitors leave your website. In other words nothing meaningful or interesting to keep the visitor keen to explore.

Hello,
As per my knowledge bounce rate means the number of people who arrive at your site, then leave your site after viewing just one page. Such a visit is called a bounce and you can calculate the bounce rate through your total number of visitors and the total pages visited by them in particular period.
