Agree with mit..Getting your site ready first before going on link building..one reason for link building is to drive visitors on the site..so it is important to get your site ready for what it intends to offer on the audience so that if they found it as a informative and resourceful site they will going to visit it again..that is were the quality of your site comes in..and be recognized by SE's..
