I think, he explained it in a good way and simple words. Usually we can see good analysis of our bounce rate of site through Google analytics and other stat counters. The percentage of web site visitors who arrive at a web site entry page, then leave without going any deeper into the site.

Amount of the time spent by a visitor for a web page is named as the Bounce Rate. The more time the visitor will have for a web page the more bounce rate that page would be having.

Bounce rate is the percentage of single page visits or visits in which the person left your site from the entrance (landing) page. This entrance can be from any page on your site. Use this metric to measure visit quality - a high bounce rate generally indicates that site entrance pages are not relevant to your visitors.
