You can check your backlinks by typing link:www.mydomain.com in google
It displays the number of backlinks that are present for your website.

    Ya!
You can search link:yoursite.com in google.
And as per my experience the search shown very less backlinks then your site actually have. so go to google.com/webmasters/tools and register your site there to see backlinks and many other features Google offers.

I guess Yahoo Site Explorer will help you out as it shows your real number of backlinks in all search engine. For me, its the most reliable tool in monitoring your sites BL. It can also retrieve links whether its a do-follow or not.

Yeah! Yahoo Site Explorer is the best tool to find the backlinks for your site. In Google, you can check it through the link: command.

Backlinkwatcher has many shortcomings like it will not show all the backlinks .Max.limit is 1000.And their no. are also not reliable.

I prefer using the Quirk SearchStatus for checking the SEO Backlinks.
