As you know backlinks are important for ranking well on SERPs. Here is a short list of different ways we can use to make backlinks:

• Forum posting with signature on do-follow forums like this one
• Blog commenting on do-follow blogs
• Article submissions
• Directory submissions
• Classified ad posting
• Hub pages
• Squidoo lenses
• Creating blogs

Another way to make backlinks is offering free online tools that people can use on their websites. AddThis.com is a good example for this.

The main thing mentioned here is that.. Blogs & forums must be do follow.. If that is no follow so you will not get any benefits..

To find articles published in your website, provide more in-depth content (only refers to the real site, not the network Zhai station. Explain more of the value)
Invite a friend to read a new blog, if the evaluation is true, describe this blog.

If you have the back links from sites having the higher PR, certainly it would improve the back links for your website.

maybe for the google only BUT always remember that we are not only optimizing the site for google ...we also have Yahoo and Bing...so it's wrong to say that we will not get any benefits from no-follow sites.

I wonder if people are still doing link baits to have backlinks and traffic to their websites. there were a time when people used to trade ideas about it but lately, almost all of the people that I see commenting on issues related to this are just saying the regular ones or the old techniques to create backlinks. even though they are very helpful, there are still a lot in the past that we can still use for backlinks..try to look back.
