Why we used this?

i think using of twitter like site is called brand marketing in SEO, it's main benefit is increassing your brand popularity and got more business!!

I think that brand marketing intended to identify the goods and services of a site's to easily identify by users and visitors for the increase of site's popularity, it is mostly used for niche competition I think.

please explain more what type of Brand Marketing i don't use it in SEO...

I think brand marketing means.. To give information to people for your brand & site.. So more people know about your brand.

I guess govind is right. Maybe he pertains to the new level of marketing. Like facebook applications and twitter. It is one of the new marketing methods now.
