SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization - that is optimizing a site for search engines; if you using forum signatures for generating traffic, what has that got to do with SEO?

Just becasue google crawls a link, how do you know that link is passing any value? (see the comment I made about matt cutts above)

Interesting statistic on the backlinks. I had a new site and did about 100 backlinks over a month, some from forums related to my niche, but most not. Saw my site go from PR n/a to PR0 in that time. Maybe it's a combination of time and backlinks.

Can you please tell me one thing, why do we go for forum posting if it has so many drawbacks?

Your article shows that it is the worse method of building links,even worse than directory submission.

I don't think that it has so many drawbacks.At least you get some traffic or may get client in service section of some forums.Isn't it?
