Hi folks,

Black Hat search engine optimization is defined as unethical techniques that are used to get higher search rankings.

It is not recommended but I am finding people are doing it and being said that it is effective for short term. People use black hat tactics to get instant ranking and traffic for particular time period which is the best for their business. For example people are selling such products which are in demand at the time of Christmas so they might use black hat to get high ranking and traffic for short term to get benefit of Christmas days.

What is your opinion about it?

Black Hat SEO is optimizations that are against search engine guidelines. If you step too far over the mark, your site may be penalized or even removed from the index.

Don't go against Google guidlines!!!

Yes, Blackhat methods works only for short period but it gives many tolerance to others , so, Google hates it & gentlemen too hates it

Black hat seo breaks search engine rules and regulations or creates a poor user experience directly because of the black hat SEO techniques utilized on the web site

He makes a good point that black hat techniques might be good for a christmas push on a website and if it gets banned after christmas then it doesn't matter!

Yes, it's true that some seo experts are still using Black Hat technique for short time results like Cloaking, invisible text, spamming, Doorway pages (Spamdexing and redirecting to their real site ) etc.

But these are against the rule and regulation of all Search Engines. So, follow only pure ethical seo (Natural Optimization).

I just want to tell you one thing that you can whichever technique you want to use....like hidden text, redirect etc. but make sure it should be in the excess and most important you should not try to fool the user..

because in my thought ultimately the motive of the google is to provide the right information to the user.

The all those action which is restricted by google or which is illegle in search engines view is come under black hat seo or you can say the things which is used for getting traffic for a website in illegle way like breaks search engine rules and regulations,use of unethically content,etc is called black hat seo.

Black Hat SEO don't follow rules and regulations just to get back links. Here are some of the techniques they usually do. Avoid on these techniques if you don't want to have penalties.
cloaking
link farming
door-way pages
keyword stuffing
hidden text

if you use it , use it with care , that would be my advice !

Black hat SEO is not working any longer as Google as well as other main search engines are using some extra features and elements in giving ranks to the websites like the age of the domains which are beyond people's control.
