Gray Hat SEO is a mixed practice of White Hat SEO & Black Hat SEO. Gray Hat techniques include tactics such as cloaking, paid links, duplicate content and a number of others. Although not recommended when using Gray Hat SEO tactics it is very important, that you understand the risk and reward associated with each strategy, and whether these Gray Hat SEO strategies would be beneficial for your website.

Sometimes, I used to apply gray hat methods, I don't think it is risky... However, never gone for black hat...

A lot of SEO fall into the Gray Hat category, and there are many shades of gray. Some Gray Hat SEO tend to use more questionable tactics and take greater risks. Gray Hat SEO is all about risk versus reward. Some Gray Hat techniques may be frowned by the search engines, but are not necessarily against their rules, while other techniques may be more risky and should be used only after careful consideration.

It is better to do white hat seo then grey hat.. following all the guidelines in seo would prevent you from getting penalized...

grey hat is used by many people , but the border between grey hat and black hat is very thin and we have to tak care !

Basically the real truth is that ..no body really know what is the exactly white hat or black hat. If we go through the google guidelines then i think there is no need of SEO experts (so called) , because whatever guidelines are provided there are so simple that every one can do that things.


So really i have to say that what ever we do to push our site is comes into the so called black hat or gray hat..what say guys? put your review

okay so you mean i in my campaign if i some times use some of the softwares like auto do follow link genrators, bookmarking demon etc, i am using a grey hat technique? okay i heard this in warrior forums, what are blue hat terchniques?

Just like black hat SEO gray hat seo can be risky too, these two hats are not that appropriate to use, using White hat seo is the best option
