I am student of IT. can any one tell me how much time i need to learn php....

Basically it depends on how much you are capable to learn. It also depends on the type of tutorial you are following to learn PHP.

2. Download Notepad++ a free PHP editor.
3. Download XAMPP webserver and install on your computer.
4. Now start with a small project.

if you want to learn PHP you can start basic of PHP within 15 days but if you want to advance PHP Developer you expend more then more time for learning.

You need to understand how the php function works, this is good to practice in the local host server.
