java script is simply use for validation.

Other than validation JavaScript has many more applications, like dynamic menu design, AJAX applications, setting cookie etc. The BBCode interface by which I write this comment is also run by JS.

Basically javascript is used for validation.. and some used popup purpose... javascript is sub programming language....

actually, JavaScript is not just used in validating forms. it can make your web page dynamic and lets you control everything on your website.
