Thread: Scripting path - what is it?

I have a simple single page html website online, and now I want to add a subdomain page to this website. I set up the subdomain and uploaded the content, but I am unable to find the new page online.

I was told that "you must be sure the scripting paths to the proper location to read the file."

I'm new at this and I have no idea what "scripting paths" means! What does a scripting path look like? Would it be part of the html code on my home page?

If so, can you give an example of a scripting path. Let's say that the home page is acmeshoes.com and the subdomain is boots.acmeshoes.com

When you go to "boots.acmeshoes.com" does it work? Is the site online and working?

If so, then you need to link it to the home page "acmeshoes.com" through a link.

Somewhere on the page you need to add <a href="http://boots.acmeshoes.com">Boots</a> to make it so you can click from one page to the other.

When I go to "boots.acmeshoes.com" it does not work. The subdomain page is not online and working. That's the problem. The puzzle for me is this: in adding ordinary pages to a website, I think the browser uses <a href on the home page to find the new page to get it online. But I am simply puzzled with how that works with a subdomain page. How do I get the subdomain page online so that I can link to it from my home page?

It's a less important puzzle for me at this point, since I have recently decided that I would be better off just adding pages to the website, rather than subdomain pages. And that is working just fine. But thanks for your help.
