Thread: Difference between HTML and HTML5?

HTML 5 is a new version of the HTML spec. HTML elements are the basic building-blocks of webpages. HTM is the predominant markup language for web pages. HTML5 is a language for structuring and presenting content for the world wide web, and is a core technology of the internet originally proposed by opera s/w.

HTML5 is nothing but a newer version of HTML. It's experimental and thus not supported by really any browser. Some browsers like Chrome and Firefox tolerate it and put up with it, but they don't technically SUPPORT HTML5 yet. So while it's not a bad idea to familiarize yourself with HTML5, it's still a good idea to use HTML4.1, as it's actually stable
