Default Should I put a new code on my forum? Please help

    Hi all,

I have a website called www.smsbucket.com - I have inserted google analytics code on this site.

But recently I launched a forum on my site which is using phpbb software. The url is www.smsbucket.com/forums

Now I want to see the traffic details separately, means separate traffic details about www.smsbucket.com and separate for www.smsbucket.com/forums

I want to know should I put the SAME GA code on the forums page which I am using on my site or I should get a new google analytics code?

    Thanks

You probably wanna have a separate code for the forum so you can track the data.

Yes, this is what I have done. But I think it is not showing the correct data....

    Reason:

I have a banner ad on freewomensblogs.com that is linked to www.smsbucket.com but since I inserted the new google analytics code on forums page I am seeing traffic to my forum coming from freewomensblogs.com

I think it is mixing the traffic sometime.

traffic from freewomensblogs.com to smsbucket > correct
but freewomensblogs.com to smsbucket.com/forum > incorrect (not possible)

One more question - If you know the answer.

When I go and Add New Website Profile in google analytics, it asks that the new profile is belong to "New Domain" or "Existing Domain"? I have selected as "New Domain" just to separate the data... is it OK?

I think your main domain has all the visitor data.

You can add filter to track data for a folder for an existing domain.

Here is the link from Google https://www.google.com/support/googl...n_US&utm_id=ad

    Hope that helps.
