Google Hates America?
Most recently one of the most dugg articles at Digg.com was "Does Google Hate America?". As it was a huge hit at Digg.com, many bloggers started blogging about it.
You can read the whole article from here http://www.slate.com/id/2193482/?from=rss
The key portions from that article is here:
“It’s kind of sad. They change their logo for all sorts of holidays and occasions. Just last week they paid tribute to Arthur Conan Doyle’s birthday. But Memorial Day doesn’t seem to rate anything at all”There are responses back from Google as well on that blog article, you may find interesting to read.“What, no Easter? I wasn’t expecting a risen Christ, but at least an Easter bunny?” Last June 6, Lopez sniffed, “So today is the D-Day anniversary. Today is the day RFK died 40 years ago. So Google is celebrating Diego Velazquez’s birthday, natch.”
If you ask me, I would say it smells like some kind of propaganda against Google.Free Classified Ads & BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL SOCIAL NETWORK

I remember reading this article as well and it seemed nonsense to me. I see us holidays on google every now and then, especially easter. It is nothing to get upset about.

I would have to agree that Google is International now and needs to be sympathetic to each and every user and country it serves. The comment about the eagle clutching the olive branch, but not the arrows was interesting, however not really concerning. I am a 10 year vet of the U.S. Army and I took no offense to the fact that they left that off. Each person or company is entitled to their view and thus should be allowed to express themselves. If anything the fact that they left the arrows off may have been to keep from offending some International users.
The problem with todays society is that we all look for the negative way before we ever look for any positive. Take your local news for example. They use only the most attention grabbing stories to get viewers which is almost always tragedy, robbery or some other issue that has a negative connotation to it. This adversely affects our children and society in general. No we cannot shelter ourselves from the bad, but we need to look for the good as well.
