Why do you post in forums?

I post in forums for information, general conversations, promotion, and service!

#1 for me learning. forums are kind of good place to stay informed on recent stuffs. plus looking at people's problems and the solutions others offer we can better ourselves.
#2 is marketing

i guess it became more like a habbit. once i got attached to a community I feel comfortable, I come back check out others.

to participate in a community (depends on what forum i am on(niche))... although the idea of advertising and getting backlinks from forums is there, being a part of a community is still the best part of forums... people share how to earn, people give resources, people share experiences and stories...

Even though the people you meet in forums are only text (so to speak) you find that these relationships actually work just as well if not better than the real thing, i have many online friends that I share information, tips, news (good or bad) with.

I also trust a lot of them as if they were family, they trully are what one could call friends.

Forums can be so much more than just another way to get traffic and advice, they can become a true community of which one can be proud to be a part of.

Nice topic to have started, certainly got me to thinking how lucky I am, I am now going to visit all of my other forums and make sure to say hello to all of me Friends - thank you TheStar, your are indeed a star
