900 Students Burried in Earthquake in China
A powerful earthquake buried 900 students in central China on Monday and killed at least 107 people, as several schools and a water tower collapsed in the tremor, state media reported.
The 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck central China, but sent thousands of people rushing out of buildings and into the streets hundreds of miles away in Beijing and Shanghai. The temblor was felt as far away as Pakistan, Vietnam and Thailand.
The official Xinhua News Agency reported 107 people had died and 34 people were injured. Four children died when two elementary schools in Chongqing municipality collapsed. One person was killed when the quake toppled a water tower in neighboring Sichuan province where the earthquake was centered, Xinhua said.
Xinhua did not give any other details on the 900 buried students or say if any of the students were thought to be alive.

This is bad.
The Chinese government said at least 8,600 people were dead, but that the death toll was sure to rise as authorities began to reach some of the worst-hit areas.
The 7.9-magnitude quake's epicenter was Wenchuan county in Sichuan Province which has a population of about 112,000.

This would have big impact on the Olympics. They may have less tourists now; and less income.

I cried watching this. I have lived through an earchquake in Greece and couldn't stay on land for three month. I lived on my Dad's boat. It was swaful. The apartment block we were then living in split in half as we were legging it down the stairs. I hope all the people departed have gone at least to Heaven. I will pray for them and for the people of Myanmar too and every where there is disaster. May God protect us all.
