There are many reasons to build a private website for our family. You can have many different reason. In my opinion, I have a simple reason. That is "I love my family". If you have the same let's talk about how to build, and what we need

Ok, I think we need a domain, then a hosting (you can buy from Dreamhost or datapacket..) then we need scripts for our site.

Do not use a discussion board because It takes a lot of time. I recommend you use a gallery for your family, many special events in your life and your family causes many photos. Mofa family album is the best choice. *** link removed

I think these days the best way to talk about your family would be to create a blog it would be a lot less work than a website, most people use facebook now so the sharing of photo's etc... is not as big as it used to be - why upload them twice.

I live in the UK and have an uncle,auntie cousins etc... in Canada we keep in contact using facebook it is great.
