They are a beautiful bird which many people actually get to see. They are around in large numbers in the winter time and produce a beautiful song.

The Bohemian waxwing, like its cousin the Cedar waxwing prefer to eat fruits, like berries. This often makes their dropping multicoloured...for instance, when they eat lots of "buckthorn" berries, their droppings are purple, often colouring the snow

These guys love eating almost entirely fruit, but like the hummingbird, they do require protein, especially when raising young, so insects are always on the menu too, but to a lesser degree!
